My First Times

hello!

class chalet was really memorable, and its one of the best times i had in IP. i had really enjoyed the short but eventful 24-hour stay. in this period, i had experienced many "first times" in life, such as, "the first time i shared a room with 15 other people at night", etc etc. here are some short recounts of these experiences.

1. First time i shared a room with 15 other people.

woah, just picture it in your mind. 16 people squeezed into 1 room! how incredible. i reckon we're close to breaking the guiness world records for doing that mann haha! well, though it might had been very uncomfortable, it was one of the memories i'll never forget.

when i first stepped in, i wondered how the heck we were going to spend the night in the shockingly small room, designed to accomodate only 4 people. but then i the end it worked out just o..kay.. (i wouldnt say it worked out well because i had a ordeal spending the night!) and even so, the arrangement was really comical. for example, 4 people had to squeeze on 1 bed (wtheck?) here's a diagram illustrating the room plan.

2. First time i shared a bed with girls.

ok, before you start misunderstanding things, let me clarify. i slept beside two girls, not with two girls. there is a difference between the two. and all i did was to close my eyes and try to get sleep after staying up for a great part of the night. there's nothing wrong in doing that, considering the situation.

sleeping was a painstaking task. first, i had to press my body against the wall to avoid knocking ghariza beside me. when i tried to curl up, (because it was too cold; the air con was blowing directly at me. and it was a freezing 18 degrees.) i actually bumped into her, feeling dam embarrassed for doing so.

3. First time i watched "fimbles" and "barney and friends" from beginning to end

these 2 shows are so brainless mann! both of them feature weird creatures that are essentially huge fabric stuffed toy dummies controlled by puppeteers inside them. they were played on kids central during a time slot known as "little kc", which obviously was planned for toddlers and preschoolers.

...and I WAS LAUGHING MY ASS OFF. so lame can? we are like sec 3 students, and we are still watching singing dinosaurs talking to kids on tv. but then i still watched it in spite of myself. i almost sang along to the songs!

aretha was beside me when we watched the shows and she kept commenting on how ugly the fimbles were, how the stripes on their bodies did not match in colour, how they looked like anteaters, and how the feathers on their heads made them look like pineapples... but then she liked barney though (which surprised me), saying that "the plot is much better than fimbles". i was like, yeah, okay, if you say so.

4. First time i stayed up until 5 in the morning.

i had never ever stayed up so late. when im at home my dad will normally force me to sleep at around 11, and the latest i had ever stayed up until is 1.30. that's why this chalet was kind of a record for me.

throughout the night we played cards or watched movies on gim lim's laptop. though the resolution wasnt cinema-quality, i had a good time watching THE CAVE. oh yeah we also played the damn lame but fun "SLEEP" card game. it's a freaking lame trick invented by johnny punny (pronounced PUH-nie). first, every player would draw one card and look at it carefully. next the game master would say "one, two, three, SLEEP!" the person who didnt sleep (or pretend to sleep) would lose. then everyone will laugh like siao at the loser.

FUNNY SNAPSHOTS

this section highlights the most hilarious moments at the chalet.

1. kwok hong was sitting on the bed holding a bunch of grapes given by mr james lim (our favourite teacher!). then gen came up to him and said can i have a "grapeless seed"? laughter fills the air.

2. john: "one, two, three, SLEEP!"

shining sat there amazed and didnt know how to react.
everyone playing SLEEP! laughed like crazy.

3. shit i forget what le.. but its up to you to reminincse the joyful moments!
